Club Meeting Notes from 24 February, 2015
Meeting began with a prayer by Robert, and in memory of summer days long past, we sang, "Edelweiss", followed by the National Anthem.
We welcomed our guests Melinda from the Main Street Coalition, and Jack, a former member of the club, well as our Students of the Month Tanner (Feb), Drew (Oct), Brianna (Nov), and Laura Beth (Jan). Our Exchange Student from France, Pierre, was visiting the Canyon Rotary Club. C'est la vie!
Ted bragged on Cynthia and our Students of the Month, David bragged on Wiley and the rest of the Band for Solo and Ensemble State Qualifiers.
Rob led us in the foundation dollars game, Jay drew, no dice! (Roll it back in)
Lydia, with the assistance of Ron and Ted, announces the Read Across America project of the Hale County Literacy Council. The theme is "Don't Clown Around, Put Your Nose in a Good Book." The HCLC will provide age appropriate books to all school students in grades pre K-5 to promote literacy.
Stan introduced Danny Andrews, who told us funny stories about things he has saw and did.
Ross led us in remembering the Rotary 4-way test, and Ted closed the meeting with the encouragment to 'Lighten up, Rotary!' through 'Service above Self.'
