Dr. Scott Franklin (seated) introduced  Dr. Adam Reinhart who gave a report to the Plainview Rotary Club on the recent medical mission trip to Honduras. Dr. Rinehart, professor of biology, took several Wayland students and graduates and other volunteers to refugee villages north east of the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa. 

The group evaluated existing clinics and provided health screening and education to villagers. Anti-parasite treatment was also provided. 

The Wayland medical mission to Honduras will be in 2017. 

The Plainview Rotary Club sports other projects in Honduras through Hunger Plus, a service project headed by PDG  JB Roberts.

 

Vernah Sprous receives her Rotary pin from sponsor Charles Starnes. Vernah joins the Plainview Rotary Club with the classification Life Insurance and Annuities. Membership Chair Eloisa Hernandez led the ceremony and President Stan DeMerritt gave Vernah her new badge and membership packet.
