Club Meeting notes from July 14, 2015

Today was Stan DeMerritt's first official day as newly elected President! Congratulations! All our best wishes for a successful year.

Meeting began with prayer and singing, "Rotary Hymn" and "Grand Old Flag".

We welcomed our guests: Jay introducer Pierre, and reminded us that this was his second to last meeting with us. Ted Reminded Stan to introduce his wife, Jean, which he did, and David introduced Claudia.

Kenneth bragged on Stan for being the bravest man in Rotary for wearing a bow tie to the meeting. Jay bragged on the youth from 1st Baptist on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Eloisa bragged on the Girl Scouts for meeting (and exceeding!) their registration goals.

Rob led us in the Foundation Dollars Drawing. We are looking for the 6 of clubs. The pot is now at  $2,134.00  ($1,067.00 to the winner). 8 cards left.  Ross Owen drew, NO DICE!! (Roll it back in).

Stan believed some general announcements, and then turned the meeting over to past president Steve Long, who officially swore Stan in as President. Outgoing President Ted passed the gavel (that must have been painful), and then Stan inducted (indicted?) the rest of this year's Rotary Board of Directors.

After the ceremony, Stan rang the gong for the first time officially (last week didn't count!) and reminded us to "Be A Gift to the Word," through 'Service above Self'.
